It's not a huge deal but when you put up a good answer, readers can click the up arrow by the answer and you get five points for each good answer. It was intended as a way for people asking questions to click on the photo and see the "reputation" of the person that answered.

Clicking the down arrow for a bad answer deducts from the person's rep score.
