How do I record sound through my speakers

I use Camstudio 2.0 and I can't seem to get it to record the sound coming through my speakers without having to use my microphone. Some assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

yeah it's cam studio 2.0
Sadly this doesn't work, I get the coding error "WaveoutSelectControl()Failed" I was thinking a lot of people had the same problem so I figured this was a givin haha
It said the same for me. I suggest you try and record something anyways just as a test. It might work but i'm not sure. Try it
You can do that with Audacity. In the drop-down menu on Audacity's mixer toolbar, choose “Wave Out” or “Stereo Mix” as the input source. (The exact name may be different, depending on your computer's sound drivers.) When you press the Record button, Audacity will capture whatever sound is playing on your computer's speakers.

Audacity is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems.
