Polyps removal surgery?!

Polyps removal surgery?

So... I am most likely going to go through with the polyps removal surgery.. and I was kinda worried.. :S
I had a few questions to ask and I would really appreciate it if someone can answer me...

- am I gonna need a blood test first (like b4 surgery?)and any other preparations I need to be aware of?
- how many needles do you get through this whole procedure (including the injectable painkillers?)
- how long do I have to stay in the hospital for?
- does the shape of your nose change after this surgery?
- and when they use those tweezers to take out the packing.... can they put me to sleep cuz I read that was a really painful process
- I also read that I can lose my sense of smell for good... (IS THAT TRUE?)

this website really freaked me out :(

pleasee help.... is it actually worth going through with all that pain or should I just suck up the nosebleeds I get? If left untreated..... can it actually be life threatning?

pleasee help :( It will be highly appreciated..

thx :)

I wouldn't worry about what that link says. No matter how knowledgable a person on a web site might be on the subject, nobody can give you good medical advice based on a written description. It needs to be looked at. Variables like where the polop is located, the size and many other aspects concerning your general health require much more information. You should always follow the directions of the doctor treating you. He/she understands exactly what they're dealing with.

It has always been my experience that if you just go through the process and follow the directions, operations never seem to be as bad as what you imagine beforehand. It shouldn't change the way you look and I suspect the benefits you get from improved breathing will offset the discomfort from the start as long as you don't make it something more than what it is.
