DirectAccess is a fairly new Windows feature that allows machines to securely work together without some of the security constraints of past versions. It requires clients running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 and at least one DirectAccess server running Windows Server 2008 R2. The message is saying you're trying to connect to such an online group using a machine that is not setup correctly.
