Can someone please help me figure out what is wrong with my tattoo machine and how to fix it?

Hello, I recently purchased a tattoo machine online and it isn't working right. When I put it all together it will work but very, very slow. I took it all apart, and put it back together but still the same. It just goes click... click... click. I have adjusted the contact screw and volatage on the power supply but it doesn't really make a difference. The second time I tried it, it went and then it got slower and slower until the armature bar just stayed in the down position and the power supply gave a very quiet hum sound and the light stayed on. Please help.

Did you ever figure out what was wrong? im having problems with my gun:( I set it all up correctly but im getting absolutely no reaction from my gun. no movement no noise nothing. im sure its set up correctly this isnt my first time tattooing. I was excited to start doing this again but theres something wrong with my gun. the power supply turns on . and the light blinks on it when I step on the peddle, but still no reaction from my gun. could there be a possibility theres a shortage in the cord that connects my gun to the power supply????

Some machines like mine, would have a etronger armature bar... And it has to work quite a bit to get smoother... So I gues you just have to touch the contact screw with the armature bar and see if there is any response... If not .. Check the power supply... The shortage on the chords can be visual.. So if u dnt see em... Dont worry about the cords... So p.s wouod have a soldering problms in the socket commection... So you better check it out.. I had the same problm and I solved it by opening the ps and checking it out .. You might find a wire hanging out.. If u do... Please take it to an electronic shop cuz they'll recognise the point from wer the wire is ditached
