Cannot open "Video Options" in Camstudio

Despite uninstalling and re-installing the Camstudio 2.0 program I keep getting an error report saying the program must shut down, whenever I try and open Video Options. The report is "vscap MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close". When I click on "close" an error report comes up: "Flashing: Recorder.exe - Application error. What can be the problem
