How do I lighten my chiffon prom dress?!?!

i bought my prom dress and its not like the color online. I just want to lighten the top from a yellowish cream to a less bright yellow cream. I don't wanna spend any more money on fixing it. bleaching it myself will ruin it so I need some help. the dress is chiffon.

Dyeing any fabric to a darker color is much easier than bleaching it to a lighter color and darker colors aren't a slam dunk.

Another thing to consider is the lighting it will be worn in. If your prom is like most, the lighting will probably be low so it may not be as much of a problem is you might think. See if you can get an idea of what the lighting will be like and look at the dress in the same lighting.

If that doesn't work, see if they will exchange it.
