hi, maybe you should try looking for a working driver. you could try and get help from acer.com, and if that doesn't help, hopefully these links work for you:

I'm not familiar with that machine so I don't understand what you mean by "WebScan." The only product I know of by that name is a bar code scanner which would be unusual for a notebook computer.
Look at the properties for the program EXE file that manages the device and set it to run in Vista compatability mode.
