Where's my video downloading. camstudio

Hey guys.. I've just got this camera... HD webcam thingy, and I never had one of these before. I don't know how to video weblog but I'm hoping to start. I don't know where the program is downloading the videos, I mean where is it storing them? I've got a really shitty old computer... it's operating system is XP. and I don't know how to use computers, really... I mean at least as far as I'm concerned.

CamStudio has nothing to do with a webcam. It's computer software that makes a video of your computer screen for explaining how to operate programs or demonstrate computer games.

Your webcam should have software that came with it that may record the camera output.

Okay I've figured that out now. I figure it's some sort of screen capture thing.. but, where does it store the avi files? I haven't figured it out yet.
Finally figured it out. I didn't know how to get it started. Turns out when I hit record then I have to draw this square on the screen where I want it to record, and then, after I'm done it asks me where I want to save it.

I was looking for a place like "properties" that would tell it where I wanted to save my files. Looks like it'll be a lot of fun.

The reason I want to use this program is that I am a visual artist and just made my first time lapse painting for youtube and it was so fun that I want to learn to do time lapse digital art and record academic lectures.

Thanks for the help.
