Psychology is the study of how humans think and act.

In order to do that psychologists read a lot of books about what other people have said and the experiments they've done, and then they usually use that to try to help people with problems, write curricula for schools, and help people to liver better lives, or they try to find out more through doing research themselves, and writing about what they discover.

A lot of people study psychology to find out how to be better parents, teachers, writers, professionals, friends, and lovers!

Psyche is just the greek word for "soul," "mind," or "whole person" depending on how you translate it.
