I paid to lease a horse, the lease was not what I agreed to. Can I get my money back?

I paid to lease a horse. I was told that a lease agreement would be drawn up by a lawyer. After a week (and three times riding the horse) I got the lease email to me. It was not what I had agreed to and was definitely not written by a lawyer. I did not sign the lease and the owner of the horse refuses to refund the money I asked for back - which is $60. If I took her to court, would I most likely win? And if so would she have to pay for court costs as well?

The emailed lease would have nothing to do with if you didn't sign it.

Your first sentence is the key. You understood that the sixty dollars was toward the lease and you rode the horse three times. The question for the judge would be whether the horse was worth $20 a ride.

I would chalk this one up to lessons learned. Don't exchange the money until you agree to the terms.
