How to tell if a girl wants you to go with her to the Homecoming?

This girl that I liked for the last 6 months(feels like I known her for years. Well I known her since she was younger.) She called me on my 17th birthday, which was like 2 days ago. We were talking for like an hour. While we were talking, she mentioned that she had an upcoming Homecoming Dance at her school. Is that her somewhat asking me if I can go with her? Just curious, cuz that's what I think. Please leave any comment.

Tell her you bet there's a long line of guys asking to take her to the dance. If she says nobody's asked, say, "Well, put me down as the first to ask."
