Basically, we only have Microsoft Desktop Applications at our disposal. I was thinking about doing a template in Word but do not know where to start.

Its for operater instructions for a software call "Jesta". Its kind of like an MRP system. One that I never used yet I am responsible for creating the training manual.

Thanks for your guidance!

MS Office Templates:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/

When you're saving a template, Word switches to the User templates location (Tools menu, Options command, File Locations tab), which by default is the Templates folder and its subfolders. If you save a template in a different location, the template will not appear in the Templates dialog box.

Any document (.doc) file that you save in the Templates folder also acts as a template.

For describing how to use software, screen shots work well. In case you've never used them before, here's how.

Assuming you're using Windows, Hold down Ctrl and Print Screen on the keyboard. That will copy the screen image to the Clipboard.

Load a photo editor program, make a new file and select Paste. Then Crop it if needed and save it as a jpg. You can then load a photo editor program and add arrows and text on the Jpg to indicate what you're describing.

If you don't have a photo editor, Use MS Paint on your machine at: Start/Programs/Assesories/Paint
