Why does Internet Explorer Stop Working All The Time?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium Edition. I bought the computer about two years ago new. Recently, Internet Explorer keeps going out on me. Most of the time, I can get my email, but when I try to go to another site, I get the message that Internet Explorer has stopped working and will close. Why is that, and how can I stop it from happening again?

First thing I'd try is go to Tools/Manage Add-Ons/Enable-disable Add-Ons and disable all of them. If it stops, re-enable them one by one until it starts again and you will find the offending add-on that way.

If it continues with all of them disabled then that's not the problem.

Please understand I'm still running XP so it may be different on your machine.

You could switch to another internet browser

Search to download one of the following:
Google Chrome
Firefox
Safari
or Opera

Or ask a computer-savy friend to do it for you, and explain to you how it works. They're pretty much the same as IE only better sometimes.

I can never get Internet Explorer working well on my computers, so I personally use Chrome.
