Why are people like this?

Well one day I went on a site because I'd heard there was some stupid question about me, saying I was in love with my friend when I'm really not and he knows that well. He is complaining about me going out with his brother. How do I get him to stop posting stupid things about me? Oh and this idiot who doesn't know the story or me, so has no right to say I have no personality answers being a w*nker. My question is why are people such idiots?
