Ice Maker Water Spout Freezes Allowing little or no water to get to the forming trays.

I have a Kenmore Coldspot Side by Side Refrigerator, model 10659422800. The Ice Maker Water Spout Freezes partially at times and, now has completely frozen,Allowing little or no water to get to the forming trays. How can this be resolved?

I'm not familar with that specific unit.

It has a defrost heater that may not be working or it could be the device that times the defrost cycle might not be turning the heater on. There also may be a inline water filter that needs cleaning or replacing. If the filter is clogged, the water moves more slowly so it freezes before it reaches the intended destination.

With that many possibilities, consider having a Sears tech look at it.
