How do I stop my addiction to food?

i love food. I don't have very good control, so I binge-purge. it's been going on for about 2-3 years now. i'm very satisfied with my appearance, but I feel really guilty. I hate how I am basically lying to my family, my friends, everyone. i'm just tired of this. what are ways to help with my eating problems without getting fat? because everytime I try to give up bulimia, I start gaining and then I just go back to bulimia again.

It isn't as simple as, "Just don't do it any more." You will probably need help breaking the cycle. The National Eating Disorders Association has a referral service that can hook up with the help you need. Their toll-free hotline is at 1-800-931-2237.

Ask_Sean Says, Try and cut down on your food because the more you eat the more hungry you are so if you go out and socialise and play with your friends or do something rather than eat all the time you may feel alot better inside and I know itl be hard but give it a shot :D

try not to have seconds, and don't eat as many sweets and sugary/fatty stuff, but make sure you break that rule at least once a day. i'm going through the same thing. you could also excirsice more (idk how much you excercise) so you can feel less guilty about eating a lot

don't go on a diet. that is the worst thing you could do besides eating more. just cut down on what you eat. Say no to yourself sometimes. If you finally get your eating under controll but you still aren't happy with your weight, then cut down on how much fatty and sugary foods you eat. you don't have to eliminate them to make it work. Remember: Moderation.

sorry didn't realize how outdated this was.
You could condition yourself to hate a particular food by eating so much of it you throw up.

After that, you won't seem as interested in it.
