Bombay was changed to Mumbai, not mombay.
Many of the cities in India were previously known internationally by names used during the colonial era which were different than the name used by locals. Since the end of colonialism there has been an ongoing movement to rename those cities to the name used by the Indian people. Bombay was the British name. Mumbai is the Indian name.
