Can A beautiful girl love a black boy?

The thought in this question that concerned me wasn't his race but his statement that, "I'm not smart." So much of what we're able to do in life depends on what we believe about ourselves. The belief that "I'm not smart" most often get's "so I'm not going to try" tagged on to the end. I have no disagreement with what you say but would just add to your comment that where this young man goes in life will depend more on his beilef about his ability to learn than either dating or his heritage. Kids that believe they're smart try and it becomes a self fufilling prophesy. For those that don't have that belief life becomes a struggle. It's a lot easier to catch the big fish when you can afford a nice boat and the best equipment.

As a black woman, I've always been enraged when our fathers, brothers, uncles, etc. are not seen as full human beings, but are reduced to stereotypes about the size of their genitalia. A black man is more than a d!@<. It makes me sad to witness how pathetic and small a "man" becomes when he believes those lies about himself, and contributes to his own reduction. Don't you know that irrational fears about black male sexual prowess were used as justification for lynching? Don't you know better? Can't you do better?
