How long after intercourse can you get an accurate result on a home pregnancy test?

My last normal period was february 17. I then had like a brown discharge on march 13, the doctor told me that was my last period. I was having constant sex with me boyfriend through out this period. I then had sex with another guy on april 4 and took a home pregnancy test exactly a week later and it came out positive. I went to the doctor on may 11 and they told me I was 8weeks 3 days pregnant due to my last period, is there anyway that the baby is the other mans and not my boyfriends? Please help me I really dont want to look stupid the day my baby's born.

A home pregnancy test is accurate as early as six to eight days after conception. It's possible that it could be "another guy's" baby but odds are, it's most likely your boyfriend because the accuracy increases with time beyond a week.

The reality is, the only way to know for sure is a DNA test. As unpalitable as that might be, it's better to look stupid the day the baby is born than to create a situation where the truth comes out later after the child has bonded with the wrong father. That's very unfair to everybody including the child.

We all make mistakes. I wouldn't compound one mistake by turning it into another one. I'd clear the air from the start.
