Assuming you are located in Great Britan, and "nhs" is referring to your National Health Service, is there no legal remedy for medical malpractice within the NHS? In the US you could sue the doctor and collect from his insurance.

See if you can get some media coverage and embarass the politicians into putting some heat to the DHSS. The politicians created that healthcare system, they should understand the problems they've created. Contact every television, radio and newspaper outlet and tell them your story.

"...and now the dhss as told me I cant go on the sick its a man made illness..."

Since when was a "man made illness" grounds for refusing welfare benefits to anyone who is too ill to live a normal life or hold a job?

DHSS staff are incompetent halfwits who procrastinate and obfuscate when they can. Often they seem to invent silly excuses for withholding payments due, often payments being held up because they are too lazy or dysfunctional to bother themselves with clearing a backlog of paperwork.

Pauljj's question is now more than two year's old, but anyone in a similar position [Here in the UK] needs to find a sensible person to find out the correct position.

Citizens' Advice Bureaux vary from area to area, and some are of little use. However, even these should know of specialist agencies who know the true facts and can push for the correct response.

Left wing or socialist groups can be useful in this context, but they might expect you to be sympathetic to the Labour Party, or a real left wing group. Professional lounge lizards, posers, charlatans, and cuckoos are never a good electoral option, and all of the main parties are stuffed to the rafters with complete idiots.
