Why does the carmel slide off the apple when I make carmel apples

Every time I make carmel apples the carmel slides off the apples the next day.
I have tried to clean the apple really good to remove any wax.
I have also been very careful to keep the apples room temp.
Can anyone help!

Don't consider this an absolute answer but I would think your chances of keeping the carmel on would be better if the surface of the apple is a little rough. Have you tried roughing the surface with something like a shredder?

You should by a mould or try putting it on the stick after

You need too keep the apples cold that way it will not be easy for the carmel to slid off.
