Should I quit gymnastics?

I really love gymnastics, but my parents are struggling w/ money & it would save us a lot of money if I just didn't go. My dad always talks to me saying how will this benefit you later in life & sometimes I even ask myself that. I'm 13 going on 14 & I've been doing this for only about 5 months, but I'm already on a team. I don't know what to do. Help?

It's not up to you to deal with your parent finances. You find out what you enjoy doing and learn about and pressure them to help you out in getting their help.

If they can't afford it, then you need to get them to ask around for sponsorships, help from teachers, other adults, etc. You have a right to do gymnastics if you love it, and sometimes there isn't enough money, but you should still be able to find a way. Definitely don't stop!!!

If you ask enough adults for help, you're to find someone who can help you with this. Your parents aren't the only people concerned with you having a good life.

Talk to your parents and tell them you feel guilty about using the money for gymnastics when you know they are under financial pressure. Make them understand you are willing to quit for that reason. Then, let them make the decision. They have the numbers to make that judgement.

You should feel fortunate to have parents willing to sacrifice for you but don't feel guilty if they make the choice freely without pressure.
