This is assuming that the baby only cries when she is put in her bed at night. If she is crying abnormally in the daytime also, disregard this and take her to a pediatrician.
Get her on a regular routine where she gets up, eats, naps and goes to bed at the same time each day. Make sure she's not sick, her diaper is dry, she's dressed comfortably and she's not hungry. If she's an infant, rock her. Otherwise put her in a dark room with the door closed and let her cry. If you have anything that makes a low pitch humming sound like a fan, leave it running in the room without the fan blowing on her. An AM radio tuned off station will work.
Until she gets used to the new routine, try to be quiet enough that she doesn't hear your voices or it will restart the cycle.
Kids learn very quickly that their crying gets them rescued. Depending on how long that's been going on, it may take a few days for her to understand that when the lights go out it's nighty-night for real. :-)
Whatever you do, don't spank her for crying and never, never, never shake a baby.
