I'd bet grandpa hasn't bought a record, tape or CD in 50 years. If we judged people's ability to sing based on what old folks think, 99 percent of todays performers would be looking for work. You want to learn to do what people are buying in 2010, not 1960.

Singing is a skill you can learn by imitating others and practice, practice, practice. The more you sing, the better you'll get. EHow has a series of videos on improving your voice at:

thankv you very much, i'll check it out!
Sometimes relatives arent that supportive. I have been singing for 4 years and have been in choir. Some people just arent ment to sing. You could go to choir or do singing lessons. Maybe even ask a friend who is a singer. I am starting to think the same thing about myself. My voice is having pitching problems. It goes from low to high all of a sudden. REALLY HIGH. Give it some time and you might just have some luck
