Do I have fleas or bed bugs?

I have red itchy spots on my feet and ankles. My daughter who 3yrs old and sleeps with me doesn't have any spots. while in the bathroom I spotted a dark brown black tiny bug on my ankle. When I went to wack it off it jumped or hopped on the floor very quickly. I then squashed it with my slipper and red blood came out.

Both bed bugs and fleas leave red itchy spots. Bedbugs bites often appear in rows on your arms and legs and appear in the morning. Fleas are found most often on the lower half of your body often buried under areas covered by tight garments and they can jump very quickly. From your description, I would suspect fleas more than bed bugs. If you have pets, that would raise the probability of it being fleas.

Washing the bed covers in hot soapy water will kill bedbugs and their larvae.

For fleas, there is a product available in hardware stores called, "Enforcer" that kills the larvae and eggs that is effective. You spray a light mist over carpet and upholstered furniture. Read the directions and note your child and pets should remain out of the area until it has dried.

Sounds like it could be a flea or bedbug, although it sounds too big to be a flea.

I ran across something recently that safely take care of bedbugs, fleas, ticks, cockroaches, ants ect.

It is a new technology apparently and does no harm to humans, pets or kids.
Plus it keeps protecting for up to a year.

I found it here www.bugkill911.com
