so, knowing way too much on the subject I can answer your question. I have a book on it called "Behind the Fame." Born March 28th, 1986 in Yonkers, NY, was a little girl named Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Her middle name of Joanne was after her father's sister who died of Lupus at a very young age. Her parents, who were successful computer advertisement specialist (the people who do the adds), wanted their daughter to be successful as well, so they signed her up for classical piano lessons at age three/four. Around that time, Stefani's sister Natali, was born. When Stefani reached the appropriate age, she was sent to a good Catholic school called Convent of Sacred Heart. Which had grades all from pre-kinder to twelve. All through her beginning years, she would act and sing in the school plays, often only answering to her stage name at the time. At eleven, her dad gave her a small electric piano with recorder, which she later said was one of the best presents she's ever gotten. She would write song on it, and record them. At age 13 she did just that, wrote her first ballad. When she turned 14, she had a big party at a club, where she played her piano and sang. As party favors, she gave out tapes of herself singing. One student recalled that those tapes were playing on everyone's stereo's. She was good. At this time, her vibes and piano were more rock than pop and instead of crazy, outlandish outfits, she would roll up her uniform skirt too high and wear "revealing" shirts. In her high school years, Stefani was an alleged 15 to 20 pound heavier and student took to calling her "Big Boobs McGee," or "the Germ." Although she went to the same school as Paris Hilton, they never really talked much at all. Maybe once. It was an all girl's school and a lot girls went there. It was finally time to go to college... She settled on Julliard. Stefani went through the first trimester before dropping out making a deal with her dad that she would go to LA for a year, and if she hadn't gotten a big break by then, she would go back to school. In LA, she wrote songs and did what she always did, except this time, her mother wasn't there to put in a word for her, so she worked as her own promotional manager and got gigs for herself. In this lifestyle, she got very wrapped up in drugs like cocaine. She would sit in her appartment for hours just snorting lines and doing David Bowie make up. She did this for months until one day, her dad just sat there with her on the couch and said, "You fucked up." It was at that time she realized how bad she was being and she quickly stopped the drugs and kept going with her music career. She met Lady Starlight, her basically same person but older. She taught Stefani many things and told her not to make the mistakes she did... Okay I realize this is getting a little too long, so basically, she sidned with Def Jam records, but they dropped her. So she was at a show, and nobody was paying attention so she took off her pants and all of the sudden people were paying attention. Akon saw one of her shows and reported her to Interscope, who signed her. She met her producer, Rob Fusari and they began dating. He made her stage name after texting her Radio Ga Ga, but the text corrector changed it to Lady Gaga, so that's her stage name. They later broke up and she made The Fame. She later made an add on called The Fame Monster. Her first tour was "The Fame Ball," which was not nearly as successful as her second tour, "The Monster Ball." So yeah, that's without the details. :) I might have left out a little bit in the beginning because I did it from memory, so yeah... ;)
