it depends on what seals you are trying to replace. it usualy involves some degree of tear down to the engine.

front or rear seals are either a bolt on unit (most likely the front seal) or are pressed into the housing. the bolt on ones are self explanatory, the pressed in units can be removed by prying on it with a screwdriver from the outside, or with either a screwdriver or a punch/drift and a hammer from the inside. (make sure you support the surrounding surface real well) installing is easiest with the cover off, using a flat piece of steel, hitting in the middle to push it in uniformly. or if you don't have a piece of steel big enough, a large socket will work. I don't suggest just hitting it with a hammer unless you are very experienced at doing that, it is very easy to wreak the seal.

don't forget to lubricate the seal with grease or oil before you install the shaft, general rule of thumb is to use what it is sealing against.

if your engine has a front cover and you want that seal replaced, it will either be a o-ring or a gasket, either way I suggest using a thin film of gasket maker to ensure a good seal.

when removing and installing something like a front cover or cylinder head, be sure to go in a criss-cross pattern and go in stages, never tighten or loosen one bolt at a time or you will warp the surfaces.

hope this helps, if I haven't covered what you need to do or you need more explanation let me know
