I have not paid my loan for a year. I'm sure it's in default. Can I register it in another state?

I have not paid this loan off for a year. Without moralizing, I was conned into a huge interest rate, and I do intend to return the car, eventually. But being out of work in the worst state of unemployment, I am hoping to move, register the car, find work, and then volutarily repo it. What I'm wondering is if I will be able to register it at all at the DMV, or will it pop up on some list of theirs? Really could use some help with this. I would buy clunker in a second and return this thing if I had the money, but I'm selling my bed and desk to get the gas to move!
Thanks!
