How to set windows password

new computer, I want to place a password that will stop anyone form using my computer. I placed a password on my last computer but its been so long I forgot how to complete this task on this new computer

easiest way to do it go to the office button in the bottom left hand corner, then click on "control panel", from there click on "user accounts and family safety", then under user accounts click on "change your windows password", and you should be able to change it. this was on windows 7 but its pretty much universal with all windows machines.

well, there are often two ways to set a password to laptop. One is bios password created and the other is Windows password set.
