Why do some daddy frogs hold their tadpoles in their mouth?

There are many ways frogs transport their young. The male Australian Pouched Frog has pockets where the tadpoles live until metamorphosis. Frogs that aren't equipped with that convienence sometimes carry them on their backs or inside their mouth as Sean says, for protection.
