Poker Games Texas Holdem Position is a term that refers to the order in which players must act during each round of betting. The preferred position is the dealer, also called the button. The player in this position has the advantage of seeing what the other players do before deciding how to play his own hand. This gives the player more information than the other positions. The player on the button also has the option of simply “limping-in”, or calling the bet instead of raising.
