What is the current fair market cost for a professionally prepared resume?

It varies considerably. A well prepared resume requires substantial input from the client, and must reflect not just what the individual has done, but his/her accomplishments and results produced. It takes 4 to 8 hours of work to get a resume into an effective final state. $300 is thus not unreasonable. You can get a resume for $35.... but you will for sure get what you pay for.
