Doing a scenic tour starting at victoria canada but have nearly 2 days free to do things whats best

thinking of doing something outside victoria and vancouver whats reasonably easy to get to even hire a car if necessary. someone told me they saw bears on the side of the road when they travelled on a highway but not sure where this was or even if it may be worth going to seattle to see something interesting
