At a sit down formal dinner where should the lady keep her cluch or any other bag she is carrying?

Generally on the ground next to her, however I've seen this nifty little device that allows you to hang it from the table which is also acceptable.

If it's a small strapless bad she keeps it in her lap under the napkin. If it has a strap - hang it on the right side of her chair. If it's a big bad or laptop bag - on the floor to the right of her.
