Why would caution be taking when giving a patient an aspirin and a gout medicine

Because mixing any two medications can be very dangerous, be it aspirin and gout medicine, anti-depressants and ADD medication, or even just two different brands of aspirin. You should always consult a physician before taking multiple medications.
