Why does sound only play through my system speaker and not computer speakers?

When ever I play music or go to website with sound the sound comes through my tiny system speaker. I have checked drivers and all seems well. I have also checked the speakers themselves and they work fine.

Right click on the volume control icon and select "advanced controls" or something like that and try fiddling with those sliders a bit. It's possible that you have your computer set to have the external sound volume muted or something.
