Are brown eggs better than white eggs?

No, they're exactly the same. The only difference between a white egg and a brown egg is that the brown egg come from hens with red feathers and earlobes (yes they have earlobes). Yes, that is what I have heard. Both white and brown eggs are good for you tho because they are protein.
