Well, it's dangerous because of the other inmates, but otherwise, it's really not that bad. The food isn't good, but it's not terrible. You have access to a library, you have a bed to sleep in, a toilet, and you get to be outside for a couple of hours a day. For some people, they're better off in prison because they don't have anywhere else to go. Yeah there are poor houses and such, but some people are homeless their entire lives, and wouldn't you rather sleep on a sub-par mattress in a room with 4 walls, a door, get real food, and have an actual toilet, rather then sleep under an overpass, eat food out of a dumpster, and do your business in the park? Besides, do you know how many thousands of dollars of tax money is spent per prisoner, per year? It's absurd.
