When I hook up my Nokia 5310 phone to lap top to transfer music it won't let me. What am I to do?

I want to be able to transfer music from my lap top, to my Nokia 5310 Xpress Music cell phone. When my lap top pick up the signal, it reads as a camera and starts scanning right away. I need to know why it's coming up as a camera and not a cell phone anymore? Is that why my phone is not accepting the music transfer? If so or if not, what am I to do? My lap top is an IBM Think Pad.
