What should I do, i'm only 14?

Hello, My name is Rosie and i'm about to be 15 in a couple of days I need some serios advice, ever since I was say seven years old. I was a heavy kid in first grade I was 109. and in 7th I was 230, and now in my freshman year I am 250. I have no problem with the way I look, matter a fact I love it. But it holds me back I love dance and cheer and espically to run. but being so over weight i'm kind of at a loss. I walk LOTS with my friends. and just joined track and i've been eating only salads for a while now but i'm not seeing any results. and not only that but i'm starting to worry about my heart getting older and such. Plus I want a new look, i've never been skinny. I wonder how it would be. thanks for you time, any comments or questions just say, any help is appricated. God Bless=] & Thanks.

Well first of all, keep it up. These things take time, and if you just give up, then you'll never get any results. Second of all, you're in your teen years, your body is going to do a lot of growing now. As you grow taller, you'll thin out a bit, however with how over obese you are, you're going to still have to work your butt off with exercise to get your body under control none the less. Lastly, weight shouldn't be your concern, but size. Muscle weighs 2.94 times as much as fat, so don't concentrate too much on your weight (though 250 is quite extreme for a 15 year old girl), but your figure. Aerobic exercises will help you to become lighter because it's not about building muscle, but more about refining muscle, so you won't be putting on muscle weight, and you'll be thinning out anyways. Things like running track and swimming are aerobic. Otherwise, things like weight lifting are anaerobic. They build muscle and thus you will gain weight. Well actually, in cases of obesity, you lose weight first as the fat burns off, then you gain weight as the muscle builds up. Furthermore, eating only salads is not the way to go. A balanced diet is very important.
Here's a website that helps explain the importance of each part of a balanced diet:

And this one will help you understand good portions for each part of a balanced meal:

And remember, starving yourself will only make things worse.
