Can I keep the SSA funds made payable to me and my brother prior to his death?

Funds have been deposited in my account already. Brother expired 12-05-2009.

Check with SSA, but from what I know from discussing this type of topic w/my parents,you should be able to keep yours but your brothers will have to be returned even if it was close to the end of the month.If you call SSA or even stop by one of their offices they will send or give you and information booklet or paper on your question.
