Electricty storage

Yesterday a friend asked me something I couldn't answer
Unlike gas, electricity cannot be stored. So when there is a lower demand than expected, and it is not used by customers, what do you do with the "spare" valuable energy.
Can you please tell him and me?

Thanks

Well, let's say there's a demand for x amount of energy, well then x amount of energy is produced. If more energy is being produced, it just doesn't go anywhere, it just bleeds out into the atmosphere. As for solar panels, well, there still is no way to store energy from those either, though if someone were to find a way, they'd probably be a millionaire because it would probably solve any energy crises the world would ever face.

well energy cant be stored unless you use solar pannels to collect solar energy
well you cant interfear with the extra electricty so you woulnt be able to use extra energy at all

hope this helped
