How can I change a scanned document I put on my desktop from .JPG to .DOC?

Need to use free internet fax, but the file has to be .doc and the file I need to fax is do I change the file extension on just THAT file??

Well .doc is a Microsoft Word document. Simply open the Jpeg (.jpg) copy it, open up Microsoft Word, and then paste it, and save it. VoilĂ , you have your image in a .doc file, all ready to fax.
