It is the responsiblity of the club to check for ID's. They are the one's who have the liquor license. Not unless you where serving the drinks yourself and not someone from the club. You pay a fee to rent the hall so they have the job to make sure that no one is underage nor is too drunk to drive if they are of age. They can go after the person who kiiied the two people. You can keep track of all the people who are getting drunk, but the hall can and the bartender knows how much they are serving costumers.

Unfortunately, our legal system is set up where a law suit can be brought against anyone based on theory and not ethics/truth. Cases are put it in the hands of a judge or jury to determine who is at fault, even where there is no fault. The sad reality is that you will have to hire an attorney to represent you. Do not speak with the person that is suing you prior to consulting with an attorney. Your accuser will be represented by counsel and it's job is to look out for the interest of it's client, not you. You do not want to compromise your defense by having something you say, be taken out of contents or agree to something that you do not legally have to agree to.
