Can I buy a car in California with an Interim Driver's License?

Also, will I get a higher rate of insurance because of my Interim Driver's License?

The Interim Driver's License was issued by a local DMV in California after I passing the written examination, since I have a valid Driver's License from my home country. The Interim Driver's License is valid for 2 months and it's renewable within a year.

If you haven't done so yet, yes you can buy a car in California with your Interim Drivers license. The Interim License is only your temporary license while you wait for your DL card to come in the mail. Your DL number off your Interim Lic. and all will still be the same as that on your DL card that you should be getting. Only difference is that you'll have your picture on it. Some people purchase cars with their learners permit. Because the numbers will be the same. It's just up to you after purchase if you have learners permit, to make sure that it is properly insured. Either way, as long as you haven't had any issues with traffic tickets while driving in California, the insurance rates shouldn't be all that bad. Hope this helped. =D
