Where can I get information to decide whether to hire a specific attorney?

I would like to check out the attorney I decide to hire for a workman's comp claim, in order to get a good attorney. I don't know who to contact or look online to find the recommendations. The attorney will need to be in Chicago IL.

unless you alot of money, word of mouth is the best way-[ I needed one, and called a lawyer referral service in my area, and they wanted to charge me $200.00 per hour for this lawyer] ask around, and the more people you ask the better. good luck!
