How do I quit my addiction to the computer?

Im very tired of coming home every day getting on the computer to get on a video game. Im on it when I get home till I go to sleep. Im very addicted. Im tired of wasting my life and I want to get back in life and have some friends. Im white not tan as people say. Like no matter what I just stay on the computer. I never get bored.. I really want to quit my addiction to get and get a life. One day my sisters boy friend came over and he said "Is this all you do all day is play on the computer?" I said No Because I was embarrassed. Even when my friends are over I still just get on the computer. And some times when im not playing a game I just find something to do on the computer like go to youtube or something. I need some help bad and I want to quit getting on the computer every day. I want to go out side and do something just to get a little tanner. But I really don't like going out side. I think its very boring. But I still at-least want to do something. Im not very strong. I only can bench like 65 and im in 8th grade almost 9th. So if some one can help me and give me some ideas on what to do to keep me off the computer I would be happy. And what can make me stronger? By not running though. Or lifting weights cause I don't have any. Thanks. And yes I have a Bike Thanks all.

Well first of all, give yourself some time. As you get older, you'll naturally get a little stronger.

As for quitting the computer, well different methods of quitting an addiction work better for different people. You should try all the different methods to see which works best for you. You can try substitution (do something in place of the computer), that runs the risk of getting you addicted to something else. You can try weaning (using the computer less and less each time), that runs the risk of putting you in a mind set where you are using the computer less, but you really aren't. You can try cutting yourself off cold turkey (just stopping all together), but that runs the risk of creating problems in your life, and making you very irritable.

Another note, as far as getting stronger, try doing as many pushups as you can every night before bed. You'll be a little sore for the first few days, but if you keep at it, you'll see some results in no time. Oh and make sure you have a well balanced diet.

When you go outside, bring an mp3 player along and listen to your favorite music while you go for a walk, and try to radiate good energy so that you think your doing something good for the world.

Computers can have some good uses like knowledge and learning... as far as games are concerned, you might as well 'chase your tail' if you had one.

Sometimes in life, it can be fun to make up your own game, such as trying to discover if you can become better by radiating your own good creative energy. There is no limit to how much creative energy you can give yourself, so just go ahead and do it!

its an addiction lol
you can only stop an habbit you do not like by learning a new habbit that you like and that's is heathly. You can start by reading positive materials or doing something lovely.

Find more friends and teachers. Follow people around you admire and want to learn from. Hang out with the people you like.

Look for people who are not boring!
