Why is the distance from the sun not the reason for the seasons

why is the reason for the seasons not caused dy the distance from the sun.

Because the Earth is not on a straight axis, but a tilted one. This also causes the Earth to be split into two hemispheres which causes different parts of the Earth to experience different seasons at the same time.
