$17,467 is invested, part at 12% and the rest at 10%. if the interest earned from the amount invested at 12% exceeds the interest earned from the amount invested at 10% by $1185.24, how much is invested?

Is that the full question? If so, it appears to be either a trick question or a very badly worded question. The answer to how much is invested is of course $17,467.
